Why was my check-in marked missed?
The reasons a check-in gets marked missed, how to tell which one applied, and how to fix a wrong call.

A missed check-in always has a specific cause. Here are the common ones, roughly in order of likelihood.
The call went unanswered on a must-answer goal
On strict "Phone call" goals, answering is the check-in. If the call rings out and the goal has no text backup, the day is marked missed. Check the goal's method on the Goals page: "Phone call + text reminder" gives you a reply-by-midnight safety net that strict mode does not.
The day's window closed
Most proof goals accept submissions until midnight. If the proof arrived after the day rolled over, it cannot count for the previous day. FineStreak sends a last-call warning before the window closes so this stays rare.
The proof did not pass
For photo and screenshot goals, the AI checks your submission against the proof description you set. Mismatched sources, unreadable details, or a date on screen that does not match today (for goals like Calories) can cause a failure. The dashboard tells you why a submission did not pass, and verification is deliberately tuned to give you the benefit of the doubt on anything ambiguous.
Your phone was unreachable
No signal, airplane mode, or a dead battery means the call or text never landed. The Goals page shows when we could not reach your phone. If you know you will be unreachable ahead of time, pause the goal first. See Pausing and deactivating goals.
Something failed on our end
Calls that never connected, upload errors, or system outages are on us, and we do not charge for them. These are exactly what disputes are for.
Fixing a wrong miss
If a fine was logged, tap Dispute on the Fines page: the fine is held, we review within 24 hours, and we waive it if we got it wrong. If no fine was involved and your streak took an unfair hit, email [email protected] with the goal and date and we will review it.
Did this answer your question? If anything is still unclear, email [email protected] and a human will get back to you, typically within 24 hours.
