How fines are charged
When fines apply, how much they can be, when your card is billed, and what happens if a charge fails.

Fines are the teeth of FineStreak: a real financial consequence you set for yourself. Here is exactly how they work, because money deserves clear rules.
Fines are off by default
Every goal starts with fines off. You enable them per goal, set the amount, and confirm. If you never turn them on, the app still runs check-ins, tracks your streak, and builds your rank, and you are never charged a fine. Your free week has zero fines no matter what.
When a fine happens
If fines are enabled on a goal and you miss a check-in, a fine for the amount you set is logged. Your streak on that goal also resets. The next check-in is a fresh start.
When your card is billed
Fines are real charges, and they bill at your next billing cycle rather than the moment you miss. A pending fine stays visible on your Fines page until then, and you can dispute it before it bills. See Disputing a fine.
How much a fine can be
You choose the amount per goal, up to a cap set by your rank. Caps start at $3 per miss at Initiate and rise with rank, up to $50 at Legendary. See Ranks, points, and unlocks for the full table.
Where the money goes
To us. Fines are developer revenue, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. They are also completely optional and something you set for yourself. We did not build this app hoping you will miss. If you never miss, you never pay a fine. That is the outcome we are building toward.
If your card declines
Your goals pause automatically while you update your payment info. Once your card is updated, everything reactivates and any pending fines bill on the next cycle. Nothing stacks up silently in the background.
Bugs and outages
If a call did not connect on our end, an upload failed, or a check-in was flagged incorrectly, we do not charge you. Dispute the fine and we review it within 24 hours.
