Pausing and deactivating goals

How to pause a goal for travel or illness, deactivate one indefinitely, and what happens to your streak and points.

Updated 2026-07-21

Life happens. FineStreak gives you two ways to take a goal offline without losing what you have built.

Pause

Pause sets a specific number of days, and your goal resumes automatically when the pause ends. This is the right tool for travel, illness, or a planned break. While paused, there are no check-ins, no calls, and no fines for that goal.

To pause a goal, open it from the Goals page and choose Pause, then pick how many days. The goal moves to your Paused list and shows the date it comes back.

Deactivate

Deactivate turns the goal off indefinitely, until you choose to bring it back. Use this when you are done with a goal for now but might return to it. Reactivating takes one tap.

What you keep either way

Your history and your rank points stay intact. Points never reset, so a pause does not cost you any progress toward your next rank. Your streak on that goal simply stops counting up while it is offline.

Traveling, sick, or losing service

If you know ahead of time that you will be unreachable, pause your goals before you go. That way there are no missed check-ins and no fines while you are out. If something outside your control caused missed check-ins after the fact, reach out to [email protected] and we will review it.

Deleting your account also pauses goals

If you ever delete your account, your goals pause as part of that process. See Deleting your account and your data.
