Set yourself up to succeed
Practical setup choices that make FineStreak stick: the right check-in time, the right method, and a why that carries you.

FineStreak provides the pressure; your setup decides how well it lands. A few choices make an outsized difference.
Pick a check-in time you can hit on your worst day
Your check-in time should survive your busiest realistic day. A 5:00 PM workout check-in fails the day you work late; anytime-before-midnight proof does not. For wake-up and bedtime goals, set the time you actually intend to keep, since the call itself is the enforcement.
Match the method to where you are
Onboarding asks how far along you are with your goal, and the same logic applies whenever you add one. Starting from scratch? A call with a text backup gives you a push plus a safety net. Already going but inconsistent? Proof-based check-ins make you show your work. Solid and want pressure? A strict must-answer call with a higher fine.
Write a why you will want to hear back
Your why is collected during onboarding, and your Agent brings it back on the hard days. Write it to your future self on a low-motivation evening. "I want to feel strong again and be there for my family" lands harder at 9 PM than "get fit."
Start fines small, then raise them
Fines work at surprisingly small amounts, and you can start as low as $0.10. The point is that a miss costs something real. Raise the amount as your rank cap grows and you learn what actually moves you.
Use reminders as scaffolding
A 15-minute heads-up text before your check-in removes the "I forgot" failure mode entirely while a habit is young. Once showing up is automatic, turn it off.
One goal done well beats four done weakly
You unlock more goal slots as you rank up, and that pacing is a feature. Get one streak solid before adding the next goal.
