How streaks build and reset

What grows your streak, what resets it, how the streak grid on your dashboard reads, and the streak price drop.

Updated 2026-07-21

Your streak is the running count of consecutive days you have shown up for a goal. It is the number FineStreak is named after, alongside the fines.

Building a streak

Every verified check-in extends your streak by a day. Each goal has its own streak, so a strong run on your workout goal is tracked separately from your wake-up goal.

What resets a streak

Missing a check-in resets that goal's streak to zero. If fines are enabled on the goal, the miss also logs a fine. The next check-in starts a fresh streak immediately, so a reset is a setback measured in days, never in points: everything you earned stays.

Pauses do not break streaks

While a goal is paused there are no check-ins, so there is nothing to miss. Your streak stops counting up and picks back up when the goal resumes. See Pausing and deactivating goals.

Reading the streak grid

On your dashboard, each goal shows a grid of blocks for the current calendar month. Blocks fill left to right as your streak grows, a fresh row appears each time you fill one, and when your streak covers a full month the grid restarts and your months counter ticks up.

Streaks can lower your price

On the Standard plan, completing your first 7-day streak permanently drops your subscription from $20 to $15 a month. It is built into the plan at signup. One week of showing up, priced in for life.
